Tony Geddes graduated from the University of Canterbury’s School of Art in 1969. After working as a painter, exhibitions officer and art teacher he became a full-time set designer and director of design at Christchurch’s Court Theatre. He has designed over 200 sets for theatres and opera companies throughout the country. He has directed four plays and exhibited in the Prague Quadrennial of Theatre Design. He is currently restoring the 1875 gaoler’s house in Lyttelton.
