Allan Crite

Allan Rohan Crite was a graduate of the Boston School of Fine Arts, and is best known for his religious works, many of which are in museums, churches, and private collections. He also wrote and illustrated books on religious themes, his technique glancing back to Gothic art with its flat, elongated style. He described himself as following "the ancient tradition of Christian art, in showing the holy events of the Life of Our Lord in contemporary terms".
