Andris Apse has worked full time as landscape photographer for nearly 30 years and is one of New Zealand's best known contemporary photographers. Apse's photography has featured in prestigious publications such as the New York Times, Time Magazine and Newsweek. He has also been awarded numerous prizes for his work including winning the "Animal Behaviour" section of the International Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition run by the Natural History Museum (London) and a First Prize in International Magazine Advertising awarded by the Advertising Club of New York. Apse has completed many major book projects both as a collaborator and as a solo project - such as "Andris Apse - Fiordland" and "New Zealand the Beautiful Wilderness".
