Sydney Parkinson
Sydney Parkinson (1745-1771) was the draughtsman employed by Sir Joseph Banks during Captain James Cook's first voyage to the Pacific. His Journal of a voyage in the Endeavour was published after his death by his brother, and includes many of the earliest depictions of New Zealand's plants and animals. New Zealand Fine Prints stock prints of three famous New Zealand pictures by Sydney Parkinson that were re-published by Avon Fine Prints.
