Keith Haring

Keith Haring

Keith Haring (1958 - 1990), an important late 20th Century American artist. Moving to New York post art school he enrolled in the School of Visual Arts (SVA). He thrived in the alternative street art community and became famous for his subway station murals completed on unused advertising panels that were covered with matt black paper. Haring's first solo exhibition was in 1981 and by 1986 he was able to open his own store, the Pop Shop selling products bearing his images. Although Haring died tragically young at the age of just 31 his prodigious output during such a short working life is extraordinary to contemplate and has influenced a generation of street artists. We are out of stock of Haring prints right now as the NZ distributor for this artist can no longer supply them due to a publisher change for the Haring estate.
