Another iconic work from one of New Zealand's favourite artists.  Cool Squares is a clever play on words showing well known character Mr Four Square in a blue palette in the style of pop artist Andy Warhol.  Dick created Mr Four Square for supermarket company Foodstuffs in the 1950’s.  Dick Frizzell (1943- ) studied art at the Canterbury School of Arts from 1960-1964 and created some of New Zealand's best known advertising characters (such as the Four Square Man and Ches and Dale) before moving to Auckland to lecture at the Elam School of Fine Arts.
