The New Zealand Line ship RMS Rangitata, depicted passing through the Gaillard Cut, Panama Canal. With regular fortnightly sailings to New Zealand via Panama the NZ Shipping Company transported thousands of visitors and kiwis heading abroad on the long sea journey from Aotearoa to Europe. Originally printed in England posters like this one are now highly collectable vintage advertising posters selling for many thousands of dollars at auction.
