The “Christchurch” design from NZ artist Glenn Jones’ “Matchbox series”. In each print in this set Jones reworks the well-known “Beehive” brand of matches in a way that captures a unique aspect of each main NZ city’s identity. For Christchurch Glenn has replaced the beehive with the famous rose window of Christchurch cathedral, a symbol that has become representative of our city following the earthquakes. Co-incidentally this design is of course also in Canterbury colours - red and black. A good gift for Cantabrians at home and abroad.
