Queenie is from Hall's Aotearoland series. Aotearoaland is a compromise "to enable the best of Maori and Pakeha to meld and form what all marriages of peoples can do, grow as a better single entity, an evolutionary event rather than a reason for discord and loss." The young Queen Elizabeth II is shown in a kiwi feather cloak with huia feathers in her hair.
