Dahlberg likes the remote, rural parts of New Zealand. Subjects for his paintings are found in out of the way places and his style has been described as “Regional Surrealism”. Dahlberg says “this style helps me depict the colonial architecture, the agriculural subjects and the mood I feel in many of these plaes. If my viewers can feel some of this too, I am happy”.
