This edition is a superb screenprint of "Oranges in a Seagrass Basket". One of Michael Smither's personal favourites from his decades of artistic creativity. Now available in a 2024 edition in a new medium/large size (there is an earlier edition in a very large size).  Michael writes that this artwork "is considered by many people to be one of my iconic works. The seagrass basket was used as a navigation aid by Polynesian voyagers. I considered the fall of light on the weave and began to get some idea of how this may have been so. Of course, most people are impressed by the oranges but this painting is about the basket". NZ oranges was reproduced in Ron Sang's book "Michael Smither, Painter", in either size it is highly recommended!
