This version is an abstract expressionist Tiki. That can be explained in a long winded academic construct about art style, appropriation, counter colonisation and whatever but in the end it is simply a celebration of the Tiki. This example I hope encapsulates the kind of emotion we feel on a summer’s day in so many different places in Aotearoa, the Joie de vivre, the joy of existing, participating, living in Aotearoa New Zealand and we are blessed to do so.”
