The North Island town of Martinborough is in the heart of the South Wairarapa grape growing region, one of New Zealand's leading wine districts . The streets of Martinborough are quirkily laid out in the shape of the Union Jack flag and the Martinborough Hotel (built in 1882) lies at the entrance to the town square.
