Captain Cook imagined with a Maori moko, according to the artist showing visually how Cook was changed by his meeting with Maori on his voyages to New Zealand. This artwork in the collection of renowned Cook scholar Dame Anne Salmond who said at the time she bought it that the print reminded her of the premise behind a book she was writing about Cook having been changed by his travels.
