Botanical art re-invented for a photographic age. A custom built flower press built by photographer Reuben Price is the first step in creating this artwork. He then photographs the subject in ultra high resolution in a controlled light environment. Kowhai are endemic to NZ, there are eight species of the genus Sophora, some of which can grow into trees up to 25 feet high. These prints are made using the giclee printing process for ultimate longevity and colour fidelity. Each of the New Zealand Flora series of prints is authenticated with a hand embossed New Zealand Flora series emblem in the bottom left hand corner.
