This vintage travel poster showing Mt Taranaki was originally issued by the New Zealand Government tourism department. The poster reads “Mt Egmont 8260ft New Zealand”. Travel posters like this advertised New Zealand’s tourist attractions like the volcanic cone of Mt Egmont to foreign tourists in the early 20th century. Designed by Leonard Mitchell and first printed by the NZ Government printer in 1933.
