Viewing the famous beckoning Santa atop the Farmers store in Queen St was a pre Christmas highlight for generations of Auckland children. Created by Rosie Louise and Terry Moyle of Contour Creative Studio this digital print is printed on a heavyweight fine art paper using lightfast inks. The artists told NZ Fine Prints about the inspiration for this new print “Santa at Farmers is an original and affectionately observed moment in the life of an iconic New Zealand retailer and the decades of Auckland Christmas activities. These included a large, beckoning Santa on the corner of the Auckland Farmers building. Created by Contour Creative studio in 2014 and set in late 'fifties this is art created with the studio's typical attention to detail and heritage. The tableau of figures and classic cars add to the seasonal theme. This truly captures the reality and anticipation of Christmas in a gorgeous, optimistic print that people will love and identify with.”
