Black and pied fantails (piwakawaka) from Buller's Birds

This print shows both a Black and a Pied fantail (Maori name Piwakawaka) and a typical nest. Their scientific names are Rhipidura fuliginosa and R. flabellifera. Originally published in Buller’s Birds, second edition, 1888, this is a modern reproduction taken from an original copy of Buller’s Birds of NZ.
