This November 2012 print is the first East Coast print from Tony Ogle. Cook’s Cove is at the southern end of Tolaga Bay, about 50 km away from Tony’s new home in Gisborne. Captain James Cook and his crew spent 6 days in this cove on his 1769 voyage repairing the Endeavour and taking on supplies.This area is one of the longest inhabited places in NZ, archeologists have found evidence of continuous occupation dating back over 700 years.
