Gretchen Albrecht

Gretchen Albrecht (1943- ) is an Auckland painter who trained from 1960-63 at the Auckland University School of Fine Arts, holding her first exhibition immediately after graduating.

Gretchen Albrecht's work, originally mostly figural, developed into abstraction with colour, usually bright acrylics, taking precedence over drawing. We stocked a print of her painting "Winged Spill" as well as a Hemisphere series exhibition poster from the Auckland Art Gallery, however both these print runs have sold out.
